Requirements and steps checked against Google's official AdSense and Blogger help pages on October 10, 2026. Google can change its policies at any time, so always read the linked official pages before you apply.
Google AdSense is the easiest way to earn from a Blogger blog, and you can apply right from your Blogger dashboard. But many applications are rejected the first time. This guide covers Google's official eligibility requirements, how to apply from Blogger, and a practical checklist to prepare your blog.
Important: no one can guarantee approval. Google reviews each site against its own policies. Be wary of any service that promises "instant" or "guaranteed" AdSense approval.
Google's official eligibility requirements
According to the AdSense Help Center:
- Age: you must be at least 18. Younger creators can have a parent or guardian apply with their own account.
- Content: your site must have content that is "high-quality, original, and attract an audience."
- Access: you need to be able to access the site's HTML source code. Blogger users have this through the theme editor.
- Policies: your site must follow the AdSense Program policies before you apply.
- Blogger users: sign up through your Blogger account. You still need to meet all the requirements above.
Blogger's help also notes that ads aren't allowed on adult blogs.

A practical checklist before you apply
These steps aren't official rules, but they follow directly from Google's requirement for high-quality, original content that attracts an audience, and they make your blog more trustworthy to readers:
- Publish genuinely useful posts. Write original articles that fully answer a question, not short or copied posts. There's no official minimum number of posts, so focus on quality.
- Stick to a clear topic so visitors know what your blog is about.
- Add the essential pages: About, Contact and Privacy Policy. Your privacy policy should explain advertising cookies.
- Make navigation easy: a menu or Pages gadget, labels and working links.
- Use a responsive theme that works well on phones.
- Remove problem content: copied text or images, broken pages, and anything that breaks Google's content policies.
- Set up Search Console to fix indexing problems. See our Search Console guide.
How to apply from Blogger
Blogger's help center describes these steps:
- Sign in to Blogger and select your blog.
- In the left menu, click Earnings, then Create AdSense account. If your blog isn't eligible yet, Blogger shows a link explaining how to qualify.
- Choose the Google account linked to your Blogger account.
- Complete and submit the AdSense form.
- Add your payment details and verify your phone number.
- Submit. Blogger should bring you back automatically; if not, use the Redirect button.
Blogger notes that if your AdSense homepage shows "We're working on setting you up" for more than a few days, you should click Accept association.
After approval: turning on Auto ads
Google's help explains that once your Blogger domain is a verified site in AdSense, and you're using a responsive theme, you can go to Earnings in Blogger and set "Control how ads are shown on your blog" to Auto ads. Google says ads start appearing in about 10 to 20 minutes.

Rules that can get your account suspended
Google's AdSense Program policies are strict. Some key rules:
- Never click your own ads. Google says "clicking your own ads for any reason is prohibited", and asking friends to click is also invalid activity.
- Don't encourage clicks. No "click the ads to support us", arrows pointing at ads, or ads disguised as content or menus.
- Keep your site easy to navigate. No unwanted redirects, forced downloads or pop-ups that get in the way.

If your application is rejected
- Read the reason in your AdSense account. Google usually says what to fix.
- Improve the content: expand thin posts, remove copied material, and add more original articles.
- Fix technical issues such as broken links or pages that don't load.
- Reapply once you've made real changes. Reapplying straight away without changes usually gets the same result.
